McElroy faces off against former high school coach

Associated Press

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- Southlake Carroll High School will hold a reunion more than 600 miles from home this Saturday at Bryant-Denny Stadium.

It will be a small affair, involving no more than a handful of football players and a couple of coaches, but there will be more than 90,000 spectators on hand to witness the event.

University of Alabama quarterback Greg McElroy, a fourth-year junior from Southlake, Texas, will serve as host. Todd Dodge, head coach at North Texas and McElroy’s coach at Southlake Carroll, and his son, Riley, the quarterback for the Mean Green, will be the honored guests.

Riley Dodge injured his left (non-throwing) shoulder last Saturday against Ohio. His staus for the Alabama game is unclear.
