The University of Alabama's football team has participated in 57 bowl games and has 35 bowl victories,
both NCAA records. The Alabama Crimson Tide also holds the distinction of being the team
that has made the most Rose Bowl appearances outside of the Pac-10 and
Big 10 conferences.
Coach Paul Bear Bryant lead Bama to 24
consecutive bowl trips, 7 Sugar Bowls, 5 Orange Bowls, 4 Liberty Bowls, 4 Cotton
Bowls, 2 Bluebonnet Bowls, and one Gator Bowl.
Alabama played in and won the first SEC championship game under
Coach Gene Stallings on the way to Bama's 12th
national championship in 1992.
Following the 2009 college football season Bama played in and won the team's first BCS
National Championship game under Coach Nick Saban.
It was Bama's 13th
national championship. Alabama also won the 2011 and 2012 BCS National Championship giving the Crimson tide 15 total national championships.
